The perfect architectural integration of the resort into the surrounding countryside, the implementation of latest-generation technologies and the use of renewable energy sources have qualified the Lefay Resorts group, since its opening, as one of Italy’s foremost companies integrating business with sustainability and enabled the resort to reduce the carbon emissions by 1,130 tons per year. This commitment is consistent with the agreement signed in 2011 with the Italian Ministry of the Environment: Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda is the first wellness facility in Italy to sign a voluntary agreement for the promotion of common projects that aim to define a management system of CO2 emissions specifically for the tourism sector.
The information gathered during these analyses, which was duly certified by the prestigious international body TÜV (in compliance with the ISO 14064 standard), is now being put to good use in the Lefay Total Green project, a journey that Lefay is taking from this year to compensate for its remaining CO2 emissions quota definitively.
This compensation occurs by offsetting the residual quota of carbon emissions with the purchase of CERs in compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, in order to contribute to the realisation of projects that permit the reduction of the emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases to be implemented in developing countries.
Even our guests will walk alongside us on this journey. Lefay Resort, in fact, will allocate part of the rates to the purchase of the carbon credits. In this way guests will be contributing to the offsetting of the CO2 emissions that their trip and stay have generated.
A new holiday philosophy has been created with Lefay Resort, in which everything has been designed to provide the maximum in comfort while respecting the environment, in total harmony with the splendid natural scenery. Finally, luxury, wellness and nature in a single place.
